Wolves take down Wildcats 6-3

LEWISTON, Idaho
- Western Oregon scored three runs in the fifth and two in the sixth then turned the ball over to AJ Burke to defeat Central Washington 6-3, and put themselves in good position to earn a trip to the finals of the Inland Cellular Tournament.

The Wolves (9-3) were down 2-1 entering the bottom of the fifth before rallying on an RBI single by Bo Folkinga, a sacrifice fly by Kyle Blackwell and AJ Royal scoring on a wild pitch. In the sixth it was a two-out rally that gave the Wolves the final margin of victory. Scott David put WOU up 5-3 with a run scoring single, coach Jeremiah Robbins then called for the double steal which resulted in Royal stealing home for the three run lead.

Burke then took over on the mound and went the final three innings allowing just two hits while striking out five for his second save of the season. Travis Bradshaw (3-0) picked up his third win of the season as he battled through six innings. He gave up 12 hits but surrendered just three runs (two earned) while striking out four.

Royal walked in all four plate appearances and finished with two runs scored and a stolen base. Folkinga was 2-for-5 with a run scored and two RBI.

The Wolves know they will play tomorrow but it will depend on the result of the Central Washington and Lewis-Clark State game today on which game they will play in. If CWU loses the Wolves will rematch with the LCSC Warriors in the championship game on Sunday at 2:00 p.m., if CWU wins WOU will play Saint Martin's at 11:00 a.m.
