Wolves fall to Warriors in tournament final

LEWISTON, Idaho - Anthony Armanino and Cody Garner combined on a five-hit shutout to help Lewis-Clark State take the championship of the Inland Cellular Tournament from Western Oregon with a 3-0 win on Sunday, Feb. 19.

The Wolves are now 9-4 on the season, with two of those losses coming to Lewis-Clark State (10-2). The Warriors have now won eight straight games.

Armanino went the first seven innings allowing four hits and no runs, while walking two and striking out six. Garner finished out the game for his first save of the season.

AJ Royal had two hits and a stolen base for the Wolves. Kirk Lind (1-2) battled seven innings to keep WOU in the game. He allowed three runs and 10 hits while striking out four. 

Western Oregon will return to California next week to take on Cal State Stanislaus in a four game series starting Friday, Feb. 24.
