Box Score MONMOUTH, Ore. – The Western Oregon volleyball team captured the first game against Simon Fraser; however, the Clan responded by taking the final three as the Wolves fell, 3-1 (25-16, 20-25, 18-25, 21-25) in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference contest on Thursday afternoon. With the loss, WOU fell to 5-11 on the season, 2-4 in league play.
Becky Blees led the WOU attack in the loss, hitting .500 for the contest while posting 18 kills as the Wolves hit .267 as a team. Unfortunately, it was not enough to combat eight service aces from Simon Fraser as the Clan won the final game of the match, 25-21.
Devon May led Simon Fraser with 15 kills as the Clan had four players finish with double-digit kills.
WOU managed to post 10 team blocks on the night, with Samantha Moore leading the way with five.
Megan Triggs added 17 digs to lead the Wolves.
WOU will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 12, as the Wolves host No. 7 Western Washington at 7:00 p.m.
