MONMOUTH, Ore. – The Western Oregon volleyball team returns to action this week as the Wolves hit the road for a pair of Great Northwest Athletic Conference contests as the Wolves travel to face Alaska Anchorage on Thursday, Oct. 3, at 8:00 p.m. before a meeting with Alaska Fairbanks on Saturday, Oct. 5, at 2:00 p.m.
WOU enters the important week with a mark of 5-8 on the season and 2-1 in league play after a four-set victory over Saint Martin's on Saturday.
Hannah Deede leads the Wolves with 115 kills while
Cherene O'Hara and
Christie Colasurdo have each added 111 for the Wolves.
The Wolves have made their mark on the defensive end, holding opponents to just a .173 attack percentage.
Becky Blees leads the Wolves with 73 blocks while Deede has added 58 stops.
Megan Triggs leads all WOU players with 232 digs.
Alaska Anchorage, winners of four straight, enters the week with a record of 10-6 overall and 4-0 in conference play after four-set wins over Central Washington and Northwest Nazarene last week. Meanwhile, Alaska Fairbanks enters play with a 2-13 overall record and 1-3 league mark after falling to NNU and CWU last week.
Following the road trip, WOU will return to action on Thursday, Oct. 10, as the Wolves return home to host Simon Fraser at 7:00 p.m.
