NAMPA, Idaho – The Northwest Nazarene University volleyball team picked up a four-set victory over Western Oregon University on its Senior Night Thursday, 29-27, 17-25, 25-12, and 25-18.

The eighth-ranked in the NCAA Div. II West Region Crusaders (17-6, 13-4 Great Northwest Athletic Conference) won their fourth straight match. After WOU won six consecutive matches in the series, NNU swept the two meetings this season against the Wolves. The win keeps the Crusaders on track for a possible berth to the NCAA Div. II National Tournament, as the top eight teams in the region earn berths.

Northwest Nazarene finished with a .229 attack percentage, while Western Oregon was at .175. Elayna Rice had a double-double of 20 kills and 15 digs. Andrea Terpstra added 19 kills with a .545 attack percentage. She also had five assisted blocks. Her sister, Michelle Terpstra, dished out a match-high 46 assists and had a team-high 23 digs and two service aces. Taylor Roberts and Kaitlyn Tuholski added 20 and 17 digs.

Cherene O'Hara led the Wolves (10-17, 7-10 GNAC) with 10 kills. Megan Triggs moved to seventh all-time in WOU history with 25 digs. The senior now has 1,590 digs in her career. Jordin Ramos had a double-double with 21 assists and 13 digs. Erin Dobson added 19 assists. Christie Colasurdo and Madi Kuther had 15 and 11 digs. Becky Blees finished with five block-assists.

It was the 71st all-time meeting between Northwest Nazarene and Western Oregon Thursday. The Wolves have won 49 of the matchups in the series.

The Wolves close their season at Central Washington Saturday. The Wildcats (14-11, 10-7) swept Saint Martin's Thursday. CWU is ranked ninth in the region.

Western Oregon and Central Washington meet for the 49th time in the series history. In a series that dates to 1985, WOU has won 28 of the matches, including a five-set decision earlier this season in Monmouth. The Wolves defeated then-ranked No. 24 Central Washington in a back-and-forth battle behind a near triple-double performance by Hannah Deede. Saturday's match, which is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start, will have live video and stats on WOUWolves.com.
