Box Score MONMOUTH, Ore.  – Kolton Nelson posted a double-double with 23 points and 13 rebounds; however, it would not be enough for the Western Oregon men's basketball team as the Wolves fell in overtime to Montana State Billings, 74-69, in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference contest on Thursday night. With the loss, WOU fell to 10-13 on the season, 5-10, in league play, while the Yellowjackets improved to 15-11 overall, 8-7 in league action.

The Wolves struggled at the start, falling behind by as many as 12 in the first half before cutting the MSUB lead to nine at 36-27 at the break.

WOU came out in the second half and quickly fought their way into the lead as the Wolves used a 14-4 run out of halftime to take their first lead of the game at 41-40. The Yellowjackets had a response; however, as MSUB regained the lead and held a 59-54 advantage with 2:29 remaining.

After WOU drew to within three with 49 seconds remaining, the Wolves once again found themselves in a situation where they needed a late three to tie the score. Rodney Webster delivered for WOU as his three-pointer with 4.9 seconds remaining tied the score and sent the game into overtime.

The extra period saw both teams grab leads before MSUB grabbed the lead for good with 1:15 remaining. With the Yellowjackets leading by three with four seconds remaining, the Wolves would be unable to convert on a chance to tie the score as MSUB escaped with a four-point win.

Nelson went 9-of-12 from the field to finish with a team-high 23 points while Rodney Webster added 14 for the Wolves. Tyler Funk also finished in double figures with 10 as the Wolves finished the night 26-of-67 (38.8 percent) from the field and 7-of-15 from behind the arc.

Jarrell Crayton led MSUB and all scorers with 26 points as the Yellowjackets hoisted 32 three-pointers in the contest, hitting eight. MSUB finished the night 28-of-75 from the field (37.3 percent) as the Yellowjackets picked up the season sweep from WOU.

The Wolves will return to action for their final home game of the season as WOU hosts No. 5 Seattle Pacific on Saturday, Feb. 23, at 2:00 p.m. The game will mark the final home contests for WOU seniors James Gehring, Kolton Nelson and Brandon Troxel.
