Box Score 2 DENVER, Colo. – The Western Oregon volleyball team dropped a pair of contests to open the Oredigger Volleyball Classic on Friday, falling to No. 19 Colorado School of Mines (21-25, 16-25, 15-25) before dropping a five-set decision to Tarleton State, 3-2 (27-25, 24-26, 25-23, 18-25, 15-17).
After falling to nationally-ranked CSM, WOU fell in a hard-fought match against TSU as Christie Colosurdo led the way for the Wolves with her second double-double of the season. The outside-hitter led the Wolves with 14 kills and 21 digs in a match that saw 21 lead changes and 27 ties.
Jordin Ramos had 37 assists in the loss while
Megan Triggs led all players with 39 digs.
Hannah Deede led a strong WOU defense with six blocks as the Wolves held TSU to an attack percentage of .124.
It wasn't enough for the Wolves; however, as Stacie Murrah led all players with 26 kills while Danielle Barker had 58 assists to lead TSU.
In the contest against CSM, the Wolves were unable to grab control of the contest as WOU was held to an attack percentage of .179.
Cherene O'Hara led WOU with 10 kills while
Jordin Ramos recorded 14 assists.
The Wolves will close out action at the classic when WOU faces Texas Woman's University at 9:00 a.m. before a meeting with Washburn at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14.
