MONMOUTH, Ore. -- The Western Oregon University women's basketball team returns to action Saturday at Saint Martin's University. The Wolves also return to Great Northwest Athletic Conference play, as they are finished with theri non-conference schedule.

WESTERN OREGON RETURNS TO CONFERENCE PLAY
WESTERN OREGON RETURNS TO GNAC ACTION
• After a 12-day break for the holidays, Western Oregon returns to play.
• The Wolves return to Great Northwest Athletic Conference play, and they have no more non-conference games the rest of the regular season.
• The game will be the lone one of the week for WOU.
• Tip-off is scheduled for 5:15 p.m. Saturday in the Marcus Pavilion. The game will be broadcast online at WOUWolves.com.

LAST TIME OUT
•  The Wolves escaped with a 59-50 win over Simpson despite turning the ball over a season-high 30 times, on Dec. 21
• WOU did force Simpson into 23 turnovers. The Wolves' defense also held SU to 29 percent shooting from the field.
• Dana Goularte had game-highs of 16 points, seven rebounds, and two blocks.
• The game featured only two ties and a pair of lead changes, and both were early in the contest. WOU led for the final 37 minutes.

WESTERN OREGON STORYLINES
• Dana Goularte is in the top five in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference in five major statistical categories.
• Goularte is currently second in blocks per game (1.6), third in field goal percentage (51.3), fourth in rebounds (9.3), and her 17.7 points per outing is fifth. She is second with four double-doubles as well.
• The Wolves are 1-6 this season when their opponents score at least 60 points in a game.

THE OPPOSITION
• Saint Martin's is off to one of its best starts in program history.
• The Saints have won five in a row, including its two opening conference games over Central Washington and No. 18 Northwest Nazarene.
• SMU is unbeaten at home in 2013, winning all five contests.
• Saint Martin's has one of the best defenses in NCAA Div. II. They are 11th in the country in field goal percentage defense at .325.
• SMU is holding its opponents to 54.9 points per game, which leads the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.
• Chelsea Haskey averages 15.2 points and 7.3 rebounds per outing.

SERIES HISTORY
• Saint Martin's has a 28-14 lead in the all-time series.
• The Wolves won the first meeting, 75-64, in Monmouth in 1983.
• SMU swept the season series last season by a combined 12 points.
• The past three meetings have been decided by a combined 13 points.
• Western Oregon is 2-3 in its last five trips to Saint Martin's.
