SAN RAFAEL, Calif. – The Western Oregon University volleyball team controlled a four-set match at Dominican University (Calif.) Saturday in the final match of the PacWest/GNAC Crossover, 25-17, 18-25, 25-14, 25-15.
 
In their final non-conference regular season match, the Wolves (2-6) finished with a .300 attack percentage, while the tournament host, Dominican, was .153. WOU dominated the net again, recording nine blocks to the Penguins' five. Western Oregon also hit eight service aces. The Wolves had a slim 50 to 41 edge in kills.
 
Alisha Bettinson became the first Wolf to have five service aces in a match since 2011. Charene O'Hara had a team-high 13 kills for WOU. Jordin Ramos finished with 23 assists and Kiana Cash added 14. Cash also had 11 digs. Christie Colasurdo and Bettinson combined for 21 digs. Maddi Ober recorded five block assists.
 
The match featured 19 ties and five lead changes. Western Oregon cruised through the fourth set, which featured no ties and no lead swings. WOU hit .500 in the opening set and .353 in the fourth.
 
The Penguins' (2-6) Aimee Steinwand had a match-high 15 kills and 13 digs in a double-double performance. Hannah Smith totaled 24 assists. Madeline Powelson and Sari Kwan both had 11 digs.
 
Western Oregon continues its road trip with a match at Montana State Billings Tuesday. The Great Northwest Athletic Conference season-opener is scheduled for 7 p.m. Mountain Time. Live video and stats will be available on WOUWolves.com.
