How It HappenedAndy Avgi led five Western Oregon players in double-figures as the hot shooting home team found redemption for their lone Great Northwest Athletic Conference loss in defeating Central Washington 85-68 Saturday afternoon.

The Wolves weathered an early Wildcat barrage of shots to take their first lead at the 6:03-mark of the first half and never looked back thanks to a 9-0 rally. The biggest first-half lead came after Avgi put through a pair of free throws to give the Wolves a 38-29 advantage at the break.

WOU jumped out early in the second half behind the hot hand of
Devon Alexander. His 3-point bucket with 12:20 on the clock expanded the lead to 17. After CWU countered with a triple, Avgi hit a short jumper and
Alex Roth connected from the corner.

The offensive push kept rolling with an 11-0 run that expanded the cushion to 75-49. Western Oregon shot a blistering 64.3 percent over the final 20 minutes, making four more threes.

Avgi's 27 points marked the 12
th 20-plus scoring game of the season for the senior forward.

Wolves' Top Performers- Andy Avgi scored 27 points to lead five WOU players in double figures on 11-of-19 shooting from the floor and 5-of-5 at the line. He had a team-high seven rebounds and four steals
- Devon Alexander knocked down seven of his 12 attempts, including a pair of 3-pointers, to score 17 points in 30 minutes.
- A trio of Wolves had 10 points each: Julian Nichols, Jordan Wiley and Alex Roth. Nichols filled out the box score with eight assists and six rebounds. Wiley and Roth each had six rebounds.
- Tanner Omlid went a flawless 4-of-4 from the floor for nine points.

For the Wildcats- Gary Jacobs paced CWU with 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting on the afternoon.
- Devin Matthews went 2-of-2 from distance and 3-of-3 from the stripes in his 13-point effort. He had a team-best six rebounds.

Stats of the Game- The Wolves shot 57.9 percent (33-of-57) for the night, their best single-game performance of the season.
- Western Oregon had five turnovers – four in the first half and only one in the final 20 minutes.
