ST. GEORGE, Utah – Senior pitcher
Stephanie Morgan threw a one-hit shutout and four players hit home runs to lead the Western Oregon softball team to a 9-0 win over California Baptist in the second game of Saturday's play at the Dixie State Tournament at the Canyons Softball Complex. The Wolves dropped their first game of the day, 9-2, to Hawaii-Hilo.

WOU has split its first four games of the tournament in St. George. Their overall record is 3-5 for the season.

GAME ONE: UH Hilo 9, WOU 2A six-run fourth inning led the Vulcans, out of the PacWest, to a victory.
Ku'ulei Siolo went 2-for-2 in the game with a two-run home run in the fifth inning. Siolo was the only WOU player with multiple hits off a pair of UH Hilo pitchers.

Sammi Cadwallader allowed only three earned runs on 10 hits in a complete game effort.

GAME TWO: WOU 9, California Baptist 0 (6 innings)Morgan scattered a lone hit to lead off the CBU second inning, but got a double play four pitches later to start a string of 14 consecutive retired Lancers. The senior southpaw induced 10 groundballs and struck out one in her gem Saturday afternoon.

WOU gave Morgan four runs supports in the bottom of the third.
Jenna Kelly led off the frame with a solo home run to left center field off CBU pitcher Ashley Coleman. With two outs and a pair of runner in scoring position,
Alex Frazier doubled to score two.
Lexi Jennings followed with an RBI double.

The Wolves added solo homers from
Mercedes Green in the fourth inning and Frazier in the fifth to build a 6-0 lead.

In the sixth,
Destiny Kuehl and
Ryanne Huffman had singles to get on base. On a 1-0 count,
Zoe Clark blasted a three-run, walk-off home run to left field.

The Wolves had 13 hits against the Lancers. Frazier and Clark each drove in three runs.

WOU plays Dixie State on Sunday in the final day of the tournament. First pitch is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. at Karl Brooks Field on the DSU campus.
