STORYLINES
  • Western Oregon returns home for the final two games of the regular season. The Wolves host Saint Martin's on Thursday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m. Pacific. On Saturday, WOU plays Seattle Pacific at 2 p.m. on Senior Day.
  • Three players will be honored prior to Saturday's game with SPU: Michelle Bromagem, Emily Howey and Kelsey Henry.

ABOUT WESTERN OREGON
  • Last time out: Western Oregon finished out a four-game span away from Monmouth with a pair of losses last week. An early first-quarter lead behind the hot shooting of Sydney Azorr was erased in the third quarter of a 61-57 loss at Northwest Nazarene on Feb. 18. Azorr finished with a career-high 22 points and Emily Howey also posted her best scoring night in a WOU jersey with 18 points. On Saturday, Western Oregon played even with Central Washington in the second half, but could not overcome a low-scoring opening 20 minutes in falling 61-46. Kaylie Boschma had 16 points and six rebounds to lead the Wolves.
  • Despite not having one player averaging more than 10 points per game, Western Oregon has eight players averaging 4.0 points or more per game. Leading through 22 games is Sydney Azorr at 7.8 points per game followed by Jordan Mottershaw (7.5) and Emily Howey (7.0).
  • WOU is scoring 52.5 points per game while, in comparison, opponents are scoring 65.5 points per contest.
  • Until the Feb. 9 win at Concordia, all three previous wins for WOU have come at home – in overtime against Evergreen State on Nov. 22, a close call against Simon Fraser on Dec. 31 and a double-digit win over Concordia on Jan. 12.
  • Head coach Holli Howard-Carpenter is in her third year at Western Oregon.
  • Western Oregon was picked to finish 10th in the GNAC regular season title by the league's coaches after finishing ninth in the league with a 5-13 conference record in 2014-15.

ABOUT SAINT MARTIN'S
  • The Saints went 0-2 last week against the Alaska schools in extending their season-long skid to 13 games. SMU allowed 24 points off turnovers in a 71-59 loss to Alaska Anchorage despite a double-double from Megan Wiedeman (11 pts/13 reb). On Saturday, the Saints tried to bounce back from a slow first quarter, but fell short to Alaska, 64-57. Wiedeman has another big game with 23 points, 14 rebounds and four blocks.
  • Saint Martin's has the ninth best scoring offense in the GNAC at 69.5 points per game and the ninth best scoring defense allowing 69.5 points per game.
  • Krista Stabler is the leading scorer for SMU at 16.6 points per game shooting .336 from the field. Megan Wiedeman follows at 14.0 points.
  • Tim Healy is in his 20th year as head coach at Saint Martin's.
  • The Saints were picked to finish in a tie for seventh in the GNAC preseason coaches' poll.

ABOUT SEATTLE PACIFIC
  • The Falcons split their games last week – beating Alaska 57-49 and falling to Alaska Anchorage 70-47. With the loss to UAA and other results last week, the Falcons will not be heading to the GNAC Tournament based on tiebreakers.
  • Seattle Pacific is eighth in GNAC scoring offense (60.0) and fifth in scoring defense (61.9).
  • Courtney Hollander averages 12.6 points per game to lead the Falcons in scoring. Jordan McPhee (11.7) follows as the other SPU player averaging double figures.
  • Head coach Julie Heisey is in her 11th year as the head coach at SPU and 20th overall. She coached at Trevecca Nazarene previously and was inducted into the school's hall of fame in 2014.
  • The Falcons were selected to finish in fourth place in the GNAC Preseason Coaches Vote.
