LOOKING AT THE WESTERN OREGON WOLVES
The Wolves battled weather and Saint Martin's last weekend in Portland to earn a spilt of two GNAC games. Brady Miller was superb over seven innings to earn the win, allowing two hits and striking out eight. Cody Sullivan had three hits and two RBI in a 9-0 win. A late SMU rally spoiled a quality start from Darrien Moran in a 5-4 setback in the nightcap. Moran fanned seven over six innings while Forrest Garcia went 2-for-2 with a run scored and a RBI.

On the season, Trevor Podratz leads the starting crew in hitting with a .315 average. Nathan Etheridge tops the RBI list with 14 while Sullivan and Podratz are the current home run leaders with a pair of homers each.

The WOU pitchers have held opponents to a .218 batting average while surrendering only 18 extra-base hits. Miller's ERA through four starts is 0.69 over 26 innings. Garrett Alvarez, like Miller, is 3-0 on the season, with a 1.96 ERA

LOOKING AT THE CRUSADERS
The Crusaders come off a GNAC series split at home against Montana State Billings. Each team had one blowout win and snatched victory in low-scoring contests.

Northwest Nazarene had four starters hitting over .300, led by Andrew Helmstadter at a .364 average. Tyler Davis already has 7 homeruns and 16 RBI for NNU.

Colton Loomis is 3-2 with a 1.10 ERA in five starts, including a no-hitter against Azusa Pacific on Feb. 19..

UP NEXT
The Wolves have a mid-week game against Lewis-Clark State College on Wednesday, March 23 at 2 p.m. in McMinnville (Linfield). WOU will then head to Big Sky country for a GNAC series against Montana State Billings on March 25-26.
