Vikings defeat Wolves, 5-2

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Western Oregon softball left Western Washington with a 5-2 loss on Monday morning.

After defeating the Vikings on Sunday, the Wolves fell to 10-11 overall and 3-3 in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference, while the Vikings are now 12-12 overall and 7-7 in the conference.

The Vikings scored all five of their runs in the first three innings with one in the first, another in the second, and three in the third.

Western Oregon got on the board in the sixth inning as freshman pinch hitter Jenna Kelly drove a double down the left field line and scored after sophomore pinch hitter Alex Frazier's single.

The Wolves scored again in the seventh when junior Kelsie Gardner came home off of freshman Ryanne Huffman's double. However, that was all the Wolves would get, and the Vikings earned the victory.

Western Oregon totaled five hits, whereas Western Washington had eight. Sophomore Zoe Clark and junior Lexi Jennings also added one hit during the game.

Sophomore Lizzet Dominguez took the loss after pitching the full six innings. Dominguez struck out one batter.
