ABOUT WESTERN OREGON:
  • Western Oregon is coming off a series loss at Montana State Billings despite winning the opener 10-0 behind a combined shutout between Brady Miller and Darrien Moran. Miller allowed just two hits over 5.2 scoreless innings while striking out six and Moran closed out the final 3.1 innings with one hit and four strikeouts. Nick Snyder and a returning Marcus madden each had 3 RBI while Brock Pradere was walked four times. In the nightcap, the Wolves lost on a walk-off base on balls after taking the lead in the in the top of the 7th after scoring three runs. In Sunday's finale, the 'Jackets scored six unanswered runs late to beat the Wolves, 6-1.
  • Head coach Kellen Walker enters his fourth season at the helm of the program. He's put together a 103-78 record (including this season's results) as a manager. He has taken the Wolves to the GNAC Tournament in each of this three previous years including being the top seed in 2013 and 2014. Before becoming the head coach, Walker was an assistant coach at WOU for six seasons.

ROAD WARRIORS:
  • Western Oregon continues a seven-game road trip with four games in Ellensburg before returning home to open the second half of league play on April 9 against Concordia. The Wolves will go on another eight-game trip to Saint Martin's and Northwest Nazarene before closing the regular season with nine home dates against MSUB and CWU.
  • The Wolves are 8-8 in true road games this year, with series splits at Azusa Pacific, Cal State East Bay and Concordia. WOU took a single game against Cal State Dominguez Hills on Feb. 7. Last year, the Wolves were 13-20 on the road, but 18-11 in 2014.
 
WOLVES VS. WILDCATS:
  • Western Oregon and Central Washington have met on 155 previous occasions with the Wolves holding a 105-50 advantage in the all-time series. Last year, Western Oregon took five of the eight games played by winning their home series three games to one and splitting the road series in Ellensburg.
