ELLENSBURG, Wash. -Â In the opening match of a league road trip, the Western Oregon women's soccer team fell to the Central Washington Wildcats, 4-1, on Thursday afternoon.

The Wolves dropped to 4-5-0 overall and 1-3-0 in GNAC action while CWU improved to 7-2-0, 2-1-0 in the GNAC.

Central Washington struck first in the 26
th minute with a penalty kick to take a 1-0 lead. Reilly Retz earned the PK after the Wolves were called for a tackling foul inside the box.

The Wildcats made it 2-0 in the 41
st minute when Kaysha Darcy found the back of the net with a long and high shot from outside the 18-yard box.

The Wolves' best looks in the first half came from the Konyn sisters.

rd minutes shot from Mariah Koney sailed high on a free kick.

Early in the second half, CWU made it a 3-0 match when Keilin Farrand set up Molly Mortensen for a goal.

Western Oregon got on the scoreboard in the 62
nd minute when freshman
Kaili Brundage sped past the CWU defense and fired a fast shot to the right post for her first collegiate goal.

The Wildcats added a goal in the 74
th minute to take the match, 4-1.

Overall, Central Washington outshot the Wolves, 29-10, with
Caitlin Kastelic making seven saves and
Samantha Harris making a stop in her WOU debut. Brundage took four shots and
Mariah Konyn followed with two.
