STORYLINES
•   Another week on the road awaits the Western Oregon women's basketball team when they head to Central Washington on Thursday, Jan. 19 at 7 p.m. Pacific from Nicholson Pavilion and Northwest Nazarene on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 2 p.m. Mountain (1 p.m. Pacific) from the Johnson Sports Center.
• Breaking streaks against the Wildcats and Crusaders will be in the minds of the Wolves this week. Central Washington has won five consecutive games in the series to extend their all-time advantage to 24-15. Western's last victory over CWU came in overtime (71-63) at home on Dec. 7, 2013. Northwest Nazarene swept last year's series to close the Western Oregon all-time advantage to 41-35. The Wolves defeated the Crusaders in the 2014-15 finale, 69-55, in Monmouth.

LAST TIME OUT
The first two games of a conference-long road trip handed the Wolves a pair of losses - at Concordia, 55-46 on Tuesday, and at Montana State Billings, 74-67 on Saturday. Despite the loss at MSUB, Shelby Snook had one of the best single-game performances of the 2016-17 season with 30 points, nine rebounds and eight assists. Snook made eight 3-pointers in the game, which is the most in the GNAC this season in a single game. As a team, the Wolves made 15 field goals from beyond the arc in the loss, setting the new GNAC season high. The Wolves were two shy of the all-time GNAC single-game record.

APPROACHING A COACHING MARK
The WOU women's basketball team is one win away from giving head coach Holli Howard-Carpenter her 25th career coaching win as the leader of the Wolves. With two more wins, WOU will match the highest win total in any season under Howard-Carpenter (eight wins in 2014-15).

PROBABLE STARTING FIVE
- Shelby Snook has the only 30 point games for Western Oregon this season. She posted 31 points on Dec. 3 against Saint Martin's and 30 points (along with 9 rebounds, 8 assists) at Montana State Billings on Jan. 14. Snook has averaged 17.0 points and 6.5 rebounds in eight GNAC games. 
- Sydney Azorr ranks second in scoring for the season and in conference play at a steady 10.8 points per game. She has scored in double figures in six of the last seven games including a season-high 20 points in a home win over Alaska (Jan. 6).
- Kaylie Boschma has been productive on the court is various disciplines over the last four games. She has twice scored in double figures, pulled down no less than five rebounds in every contest, and shot over 40 percent from the field twice. 
- Ali Nelke was held scoreless for the first time this season at MSUB (1/14), but she continued her string to seven games of having at least three rebounds.
- Jasmine Miller has the only two double-doubles on the season for the Wolves (12/3 vs. SMU, 12/10 vs. SOU). Miller connected on all three 3-point attempts at MSUB (1/14), a career-high for makes from downtown in a single game.

ABOUT CENTRAL WASHINGTON
The Wildcats lost both games in its trip to Alaska, falling to Alaska Anchorage, 86-48, on Thursday and Alaska, 69-56, on Saturday. Jasmin Edwards had three assists this week, giving her 349 career assists, moving up to No. 17 in GNAC history. Her 4.99 assists per game also rank sixth. She ranks in the top 50 in Division II in assists per game this year. Taylor Baird ranks 28th in the nation in field-goal percentage, making 53.2 percent of her field goals taken. Her six double-doubles also rank 39th in Division II. Baird led the team in scoring in both games in Alaska. She has led CWU in scoring in eight games this year.

ABOUT NORTHWEST NAZARENE
Northwest Nazarene pulled out an 84-77 overtime victory on Thursday at Alaska before losing on Saturday to Alaska Anchorage, 101-69. Lexi Tubbs recorded a double-double in the overtime win against Alaska with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Ellie Logan tallied a team-high 17 points along with eight rebounds. Logan went 6 for 6 from the free-throw line last week and now has a career free-throw percentage of .854, which leads all active players in the GNAC and ranks ninth all-time. Kaitlyn Merritt tallied eight assists last week. Her assist-turnover ratio this year is 3.38, which leads the GNAC and ranks fifth in Division II. The Crusaders recorded 53 rebounds in the overtime victory over Alaska, which was one rebound shy of the GNAC season-high for single game rebounds by a team. Northwest Nazarene's 69 points against Alaska Anchorage marked just the third time this year that the Crusaders have been held under 70 points this season.
