MONMOUTH, Ore.—The Western Oregon University (2-8-2, 1-5-2 GNAC) women's soccer team will split time on the road and at home this week by traveling to face Concordia on Thursday before hosting Saint Martin's on Saturday. Kick off against Concordia will happen under the lights at Tuominen Yard with a 7 p.m. start while the home match agains Saint Martin's is set to begin at 1 p.m.
ABOUT CONCORDIA (10-2-1, 7-0-1 GNAC): The Cavaliers will enter Thursday's match sporting a seven-match winning streak and have climbed to No. 4 in the latest United Soccer Coaches' West Region Rankings and to No. 25 in NCAA DII… The Cavaliers have posted four straight shutout wins and have allowed just a single goal over their last eight matches… In eight GNAC contests, the Cavs have outscored their league opponents 15-to-1… Kyra Radcliffe, Sydney Van Steenberge and Gabrielle Ewing share the team lead with five goals each… Ewing also holds the team high with five assists… Anna Miller holds a 0.60 goals against average and a 8-0-1 record as the CU netminder.
ABOUT SAINT MARTIN'S (1-11-1, 1-6-1 GNAC): The Saints begin the week with back-to-back-losses to No. 3-ranked Western Washington and Seattle Pacific by a combined score of 10-0… SMU's lone win on the year was a 2-0 victory at Montana State Billings on Oct. 7… The Saints opened the year with eight straight losses before tying Central Washington, 1-1, on Sept. 30… Overall, SMU has been outscored 48-6 on the season… Lauren Allison has half of the team's goals while Tiare Kahalewai posted the lone game-winner for the club.
LAST WEEK: The Wolves allowed just one goal in over 200 minutes of action last week, but could only muster a 0-1-1 record with a 0-0 tie at Montana State Billings and a 1-0 setback at Northwest Nazarene… NNU's Hannah Holm scored in the 98th minute for the Nighthawk's win on Oct. 13
LOOKING AHEAD: The Wolves will close out the regular season next week with a road match at Seattle Pacific on Oct. 26 before hosting Simon Fraser for the season finale on Oct. 28.
OVERTIME: The Wolves have participated in overtime matches in four of their last six outings and have now gone to extra sessions in five of its 12 contests in 2017… Four of the five overtime games have advanced to the second overtime period… WOU is 0-3-2 in overtime affairs.
TOMASINO NAMED GNAC POW: With two goals in the second half against Chaminade, freshman
Alyssa Tomasini was named the GNAC Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 11… Tomasini broke the stalemate in the 64th minute against the Silverswords and returned with her second goal of the day in the 81st minute to preserve the first win of the season for the Wolves.

Caitlin Kastelic has played all 1153:2 minutes for the Wolves between the pipes… Kastelic holds a 1.95 goals allowed per match average and a .719 save percentage… Kastelic is fourth in the GNAC with 5.33 saves per game and third in the league with 64 total saves this season… With 1,540 minutes logged a year ago, Kastelic played all but 10 minutes in goal during her freshman campaign for the Wolves in 2016.

GNAC PRESASON POLL: With 23 points in the poll of the nine head coaches, the Wolves were picked to finish eighth in the GNAC Preseason Coaches' Poll… The Wolves ranked higher than Saint Martin's (11 points) while being edged in points by Northwest Nazarene (26 points)… Defending national champion Western Washington earned all nine first-place votes for 91 points and was followed by Central Washington (62 points) and Concordia (58 points).
