PORTLAND, Ore.—After being held scoreless through the first half, No. 25-ranked Concordia University defeated Western Oregon University, 3-0, in GNSAC women's soccer action on Thursday night at Tuominen Yard.
With the win, Concordia (11-2-1, 8-0-1 GNAC) extended its unbeaten streak to 10 matches and its shutout stretch to more than five complete contests. The win also clinched one of the four GNAC tournament spots for the Cavaliers.
The Western Oregon (2-9-2, 1-6-2 GNAC) defense bent but did not break in the first half after allowing 14 attempts but just four of those attempts were on target where sophomore goalkeeper
Caitlin Kastelic scooped up the offerings to enter the break tied, 0-0.
Using a feed from teammate Kyra Radcliffe, Gabrielle Ewing broke the stalemate in the 53rd minute with a long strike over Kastelic's reach. Ewing's goal, her team-leading sixth of the season, held firm for the eventual game-winner as CU added two more scores.
Maddie Misi provided the insurance goal in the 67th minute while Makenzee Cleveland found the netting in the final minute of play.
The Cavaliers finished with a 24-to-2 advantage in shots with

Alyssa Tomasini generating second-half on-goal attempts for the Wolves.
Collecting two saves, Anna Miller improved to 9-0-1 in goal for the Cavs while Kastelic ended the night with seven stops.
The Wolves will return home to host Saint Martin's on Saturday, Oct. 21. Kickoff against the Saints is set for 1 p.m.
