TURLOCK, Calif. – Sophomore
Ryanne Huffman had three hits, including a pair of triples, with three RBI and
Zoe Clark went 4 for 7 scoring three times helping the Western Oregon softball team to their third and fourth consecutive wins at the 2017 tournament of Champions with wins over Academy of Art (7-3) and Cal State Dominguez Hills (9-4).

With the wins, the Wolves moved to 14-11 on the season and will look to sweep the weekend with two games on Sunday – against San Francisco State at 12:30 p.m. and Sonoma State at 3 p.m.

GAME ONE – Western Oregon 7, Academy of Art 3
The Wolves did not waste any time in Saturday morning's game against the Urban Knights, posting single runs in the first two frames. Huffman scored from second on the front-end of a double steal attempt after
Destiny Kuehl got caught in a rundown between first and second base. Leading off the second,
Chandler Bishop went yard, lifting a 1-0 pitch over the wall in left field, her second home run of the year, for the 2-0 lead.

In the fourth,
Emma Alfonso drew a bases loaded walk and
Kelsie Gardner produced two more runs singling down the line in left field for a 5-0 advantage.

With the offensive support,
Lizzet Dominguez kept the ART U bats cool over five innings, allowing a lone single in the second frame. The Urban Knights scored three times with three hits in the top of the sixth inning and had the bases loaded before Dominguez induced a comebacker to thwart the rally.

With their lead cut down two, Western Oregon loaded the bags with two outs. Kuehl swung at a pitch that got away from the catcher and reached on the wild pitch. On the same play, Clark scored from third and Gardner crossed home all the way from second scoring on the throw trying to nab Kuehl ant first base.

Sammi Cadwallader allowed a pair of baserunners in her lone relief inning closing out the win for Dominguez in the circle. Dominguez improved to 1-1 allowing three runs on four hits and four walks with two strikeouts.

Bishop went 2 for 2 with an RBI, Gardner went 2 for 4 with a pair of RBI, and Clark scored twice after going 1 for 3. In total, Western Oregon racked up eight hits in winning their second consecutive game against the Urban Knights and third all-time in four meetings.

GAME TWO – Western Oregon 9, Cal State Dominguez Hills 4
In Saturday's afternoon-cap, the Wolves needed a big frame to pull away from Toros.
Mercedes Green swatted the game-winning single to center field plating Clark and
Ashlee Lynch while a bases-clearing triple from Huffman later in the inning busted the game open for WOU. Clark led the Wolves at the plate, going 3 for 4 while scoring a run.

Huffman and Green each had two hits as Western Oregon piled up 13 hits compared to 10 from Cal State Dominguez Hills.

In the circle, Bishop got the start, going four innings, allowing two runs on four hits, striking out one before giving way to
Haley Fabian in the fifth. Fabian went on to win her sixth decision of the year giving up two runs on six hits while striking out one.
