BELLINGHAM, Wash. – After facing an offensive force in the first game of the day, Western Oregon softball rebounded in game two to claim a split, 13-1 loss (5 innings) and a 6-1 win, in Friday's doubleheader against Western Washington in Great Northwest Athletic Conference play. The Wolves moved to 22-17, 9-9 on the season following the twin bill.

GAME ONE
The first three batters reached for Western Washington as they struck for five first-inning runs against freshman pitcher
Chandler Bishop. WWU scored in all five innings while swatting 16 hits, tying the second-best output of the season.

Ashley Doyle plated Western Oregon's lone run in the opening game with a double to left field that scored Bishop.
Â
Bishop (3-4) took the loss in the circle allowing 13 runs, 10 earned, on 16 hits and one walk.

GAME TWO
After mustering just three hits over the first six innings of the day, the Western Oregon offense finally busted through in the bottom of the second, plating six runs that included a three-run double to right-center field by
Cheyanne Rimer.

Western Washington pushed a single run across in the top of the third, but
Haley Fabian would allow just one base runner for the rest of the game, retiring 12 in a row before an error broke the string.
Â
Fabian (9-7) picked up the complete-game victory allowing a run on three hits while fanning six.

UP NEXT
The Wolves and Vikings will close out their four-game series with another doubleheader on Saturday, beginning at 12 p.m. in Bellingham.
