Box Score 3 TUCSON, Ariz.—After delaying the start to the tournament by a day due to recent rainfall in the area, the Western Oregon softball team dropped three games at the Tucson Invitational on Saturday. The team returned to aplit its two contests on Sunday.
The Wolves opened the Saturday with a 6-1 loss to Southern Nazarene and battled to the end before falling 3-2 against No. 9-ranked Dixie State University. After a mini-break in the action, Biola University defeated WOU, 5-0, in the nightcap.
On Sunday, WOU was eged by Fort Lewis College, 4-3, before defeating Franklin Pierce, 11-4, in th efinale.
Stats were not immediately available for the tournament games played at Lincoln Park.
WOU is scheduled to play four games at the Concordia Classic on Feb. 24-25. The Wolves will open play in Portland against Northwest University at 11 a.m. on Saturday. The team will go on to play Eastern Oregon in the nightcap and again in teh morning session on Sunday before closing out the tourney against Corban University.
