CLERMONT, Fla.—Using three runs in the bottom of the 5th, Saint Rose defeated Western Oregon, 3-1, in the final day of action at the PFX Athletics Tournament on Monday.
After leaving two runners on base in the 1st inning, Western Oregon (7-3) opened the account in the next frame as

Armed with the one-run lead, WOU starter
Haley Fabian did not allow a Saint Rose (4-4) player to travel base second base until the 6th inning.
In the 6th, Saint Rose used a 2-run single by Ryane Brush and an RBI swing by Savanna Liverio to take the 3-1 lead.
Kiley Lynn provided a 2-out single in the 7th, but Saint Rose starter Emily Kurtzner closed out the game by forcing a fly to left for the final out.
Led by a 3-for-4 game by Lynn, the Wolves out hit the Golden Knights 9-to-4. Fabian struck out five and walked two in the quality start.
