PORTLAND, Ore.—Finishing up a series that was originally scheduled for mid-March, Western Oregon topped Montana State Billings, 12-0 and 11-1, for a GNAC softball sweep on Monday.

Haley Fabian came within one out of upping her teammate in the second game.
The Wolves outhit the Yellowjackets 25 to 4 in the doubleheader. Scoring four runs on the day, senior second baseman
Ryanne Whitaker combined to go 5-for-5 at the plate with two additional walks.
With the sweep, Western Oregon improved to 22-11 on the season and 10-6 in conference play. MSU Billings fell to 10-24 overall and 3-13 in the GNAC standings.
The Wolves will return to Portland to face Concordia University on Saturday, April 13. The two teams will turn around and complete the series in Monmouth on Sunday, April 14. First pitch is set for 12 p.m. on both days.

Tying a season high in scoring, Western Oregon throttled MSU Billings, 12-0, in the opener on Monday morning.
The Wolves loaded the bases and scored in each of the first four frames.
Cheyanne Rimer rewarded the team with a grand slam as part of a game-breaking 6-run top of the 3rd that made it an 11-0 advantage.
Batting hours after being named the GNAC Player of the Week, Ayanna Arceneauex drove in the team's final run with a single to center field in the 4th inning.
Setting the table at the top of the lineup,
Ryanne Whitaker went 3-for-3 at the plate with one RBI and three runs scored. Arceneaux went 2-for-2 while Rimer ended the game with five RBI that included a sac fly in the 2nd in addition to her four-run shot.
Mariah Deleon went 1-for-2 with three RBI and drew two walks in the contest.
Tossing a two-hit complete game, freshman
Maddie Mayer won her third straight start and improved to 7-2 on the season. After recording her second straight shutout, Mayer has allowed just one earned run over her last 24 2/3 innings of work in the circle. Mayer struck out five batters and walked one against the Yellowjackets
Game 2: Western Oregon def. MSU Billings, 11-1 (5 inn.)
Using another dominating pitching performance, Western Oregon completed the Monday sweep with an 11-1 win over the Yellowjackets.
Haley Fabian allowed just one hit, a leadoff single in the 2nd, over the first four innings and maintained the one-hit shutout until two outs were on the board in the bottom of the 5th.
Down to their final out, MSUB broke up the scoreless string with a Brittanee Fisher solo home run.
The Wolves got on the board with two runs in the 2nd and sent eight batters to the plate in the 3rd to stake a 5-0 lead.
Kennedy Coy and
Ayanna Arceneaux got the offense rolling in the 2nd with back-to-back singles and were soon driven in by a
Tyler Creach single and a sac fly by
Jenna Kelly.
Coy returned to the plate in the next inning for an RBI of her own while
Ryanne Whitaker and Creach followed with run-producing swings.
WOU's offense continued to roll in the 4th with five hits, including a 3-run triple by
Tyler Creach and a 2-run single by
Ayanna Arceneaux.
Striking out four and walking zero batters, Fabian moved to 10-2 on the year with the win.
