Ana McClave to join sister Cali on Wolves basketball team

MONMOUTH, Ore. – Ana McClave didn't have to look far to continue her playing career at the collegiate level. With her sister Cali already playing at Western Oregon University, Ana will keep it in the family as she also committed to playing for the WOU women's basketball team as announced by head coach Holli Howard-Carpenter.

"We are extremely excited for Ana to join us next fall.  She is, above all, a fierce competitor and will bring so much to our team.  Ana is probably best known for her ability to shoot the three; she has a beautiful and effortless stroke.  She is a scrappy defender and her ability to anticipate steals really sparks her transition game.  She can score from anywhere on the floor and can also play the point as she has great vision and IQ.  Ana is a great team player and is just flat out tough," Howard-Carpenter said.

Ana, a guard from Crescent Valley High School in Corvallis, put together impressive numbers during her final season averaging 15 points, eight rebounds, 4.5 steals and four assists per game. She was named to the First Team All-League her junior year and Second Team All-League both freshman and sophomore year. Ana earned a pair of Player of the Game honors during the 2018 State Tournament. In addition to earning varsity letters all four years in basketball, Ana also took home four varsity letters in soccer and was a two-time State Champion in soccer, along with being named the MVP.

Ana joins her sister Cali who just completed her freshman campaign with the Wolves last year.
