PORTLAND, Ore. – Once again, it was another dominating week for junior linebacker Jaylin Parnell and on Monday he was named Great Northwest Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Parnell also earned the award back on Sep. 13 following his performance on the road at Texas A&M-Kingsville.
Parnell once again led the defensive charge for the Wolves in the win over Lincoln. He came away with six tackles (all solo), while adding four tackles for a loss of 13 yards and three sacks for a loss of 12 yards. In addition, he added two quarterback hurries and was constantly in the backfield throughout the game.
He finishes the season leading the team in tackles (78), solo tackles (48), tackles for loss (17, 67 yards), sacks (8.5, 51 yards) and tying in forced fumbles with two. Parnell also added a blocked field goal, three pass breakups and five quarterback hurries.
WOU finished the season with a dominating 55-16 win over Lincoln (CA) to post a record of 4-6 overall.
