SEATTLE, Wash. – Seattle Pacific came out on the attack over the first 45 minutes and after building a 4-0 halftime lead, the Falcons went on to take the 5-0 win over the Western Oregon University soccer team Friday.
The Falcons (4-0) scored a pair of goals within two minutes of each other before the 10-minute mark to jump out to a 2-0 lead. SPU would tally two more before the break to open up a 4-0 advantage. The Wolves (1-4) were able to keep the Falcons to just a goal in the second half to provide the final margin.
SPU generated 27 shots with 12 on goal, while WOU had five shots and two on goal. The Wolves held a 4-3 edge in corner kicks. Alyssa Tomasini led the way with two shots. Liz Parker and Lilly Nowatzke each fired a shot on goal. Hannah Rispler had the other shot for the Wolves.
Claire Neder and Sophia Chilczuk had big games for the Falcons with Neder tallying eight shots, with four on goal and scored two goals. Chilczuk added four shots, with three on target and a pair of goals.
Emily Wheeler tallied several big saves in the second half as she started and played the entire game coming up with seven saves. Riley Travis played a majority of the game in goal for the Falcons and Kaitlynn Knocke played the final 17 minutes with each recording a save.
