MONMOUTH, Oregon --- The Western Oregon volleyball team fell to fifth-ranked Alaska Anchorage 3-0 (25-19, 25-8, 25-15) on Thursday night at the New PE Building.
The Wolves (9-16 overall, 5-12 GNAC) in the first set drew even with the Seawolves (26-2, 16-1) at 17-17 following kills from
Emily Olson and
Bailee Hartsook.Â
However, a 4-0 run by UAA helped them pull away and take the first set as the Seawolves eventually pulled away from the sweep.
Hartsook led the Wolves with nine kills while
Madison Hornback had six and Olson finished with five.
Laney O'Neil had a team-high 14 assists while
Emily West added 10.Â
WOU closes out the season 2 p.m. Saturday against Alaska Fairbanks. The Wolves will celebrate their five seniors prior to the match.
