MONMOUTH, Oregon --- The Western Oregon women's basketball team wraps up its non-conference schedule this weekend as it travels to take on undefeated CSU Dominguez Hills on Friday and CSU San Bernardino on Sunday.

WESTERN OREGON HEADING INTO THE WEEK | 2022-23 STATISTICS

The Wolves moved to 6-2 overall and 6-0 in non-conference play with a win on the road at Corban 77-54 on Friday before beating Willamette in their home opener 67-51 Saturday at New PE Building. Princy Paaluhi-Caulk paced WOU during the week, averaging 18.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals per contest.

On the season, Cali McClave continues to lead the team in scoring at 15.9 points per game to go along with 6.0 rebounds and 1.8 steals. Paaluhi-Caulk is second on the team in scoring (11.4) while leading the team in assists (3.1) and steals (2.0) along with averaging 7.0 rebounds. Kiylynn Dawkins is also averaging double figures at 10.1 points. Ana McClave leads the team in rebounding (8.8) while averaging 7.5 points, 2.5 assists and 1.3 steals per contest.

As a team, the Wolves continue to dominate the glass with a plus-6.7 rebounds per game margin and are still holding teams under 60 points per game on average at 59.0 while averaging 67.6 points per contest.

DOMINGUEZ HILLS enters Friday's contest undefeated at 8-0 after last week winning at Cal Poly Pomona 77-64 on Thursday and beating CSU San Bernardino at home 91-71 on Sunday.

The Toros have won each game by double figures while beating their opponents by an average of 22.4 points per contest. A key has been forcing 22.9 turnovers per game - leading to 23.3 points per game off of turnovers compared to allowing just 10.4 points per game off turnovers. Asia Jordan leads the team in scoring (14.6), rebounding (7.3) and blocks (0.9), Nala Williams is second on the team in scoring (12.6) while averaging 4.9 rebounds, 3.4 assists and a team-high 3.1 steals. Dawnyel Lair is averaging 11.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists (tops on the team) and 2.7 steals.

SAN BERNARDINO, which plays Cal State East Bay on Friday, is coming off a loss to Dominguez Hills last week, 91-71, with Jaida Jackson leading the team with 17 points, four rebounds and four assists.

The Yotes are led in scoring by Destiny Jackson as she's averaging 12.3 points per game while leading the team in rebounding (5.3) along with averaging 1.9 assists and 1.0 steals. No other player is averaging more than 9 points per game. As a team, CSUSB is averaging 64.7 points per game while allowing 64.0 points per contest. Like WOU, the Yotes do well on the glass with a rebounding margin of plus-6.9 on the season.

RECENT HISTORY VERSUS CSUDH, CSUSB
This will be the first meeting between CSU Dominguez Hills and the Wolves. Against CSU San Bernardino, WOU has played three games against the Yotes since 2000 and are 1-2. The last time these teams met was Nov. 12, 2017 in Monmouth - a 70-50 win for the Wolves. This will be the first time WOU has played at CSUSB since Dec. 20, 2003 - a 51-48 loss to the Yotes.

WOU SELECTED THE GNAC TEAM OF THE WEEK (DEC. 12 - RELEASE)
The Western Oregon women's basketball team was named the GNAC Team of the Week on Dec. 12 after going 2-0 the previous week with wins over Corban and Willamette to move to 6-2 overall and 6-0 in non-conference play. The Wolves opened the week with a 77-54 win on the road at Corban on Dec. 9 in Salem. Princy Paaluhi-Caulk paced four WOU players in double figures with 17 points while Ana McClave had a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds to go along with four assists and three steals, Kiylynn Dawkins added 14 point and Kylee Arzner had 12 points. The Wolves the next day played their home opener against Willamette, beating the Bearcats 67-51. Paaluhi-Caulk again led the Wolves with 20 points to go along with six rebounds and five steals. Cali McClave had 13 points while Dawkins added 12 points and six rebounds.

WOLVES PICKED NINTH IN GNAC PRESEASON POLL

The Western Oregon women's basketball team was selected to finish ninth in the GNAC Preseason Poll when it was released Oct. 21. The Wolves finished with 22 points, finishing ahead of Alaska (15) and behind Saint Martin's (27). Western Washington was picked first with 98 points and eight first points followed by Alaska Anchorage (84 points, one first-place vote) and Montana State Billings (81 points, one first-place vote). WOU went 9-17 overall and 5-13 in the GNAC last season - finishing eighth in the conference.
