PORTLAND, Ore. – After putting together big regular seasons, Tresai McCarver and Meadow Aragon were both named to the All-Great Northwest Athletic Conference Honorable Mention Team on Wednesday.
McCarver has had a big season averaging 10.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, 105 assists, 38 steals, 83 field goals, 22 three-pointers and 73 free throws in 30.5 minutes per game. She is tied for the team lead in scoring per game and field goals made, while leading the team in assists and free throws, along with minutes per game. McCarver is second in steals and rebounds. She ranks second in the GNAC in assists per game (4.2), sixth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.6), and ninth in minutes per game.
McCarver has reached double-figures in scoring in 11 games this season with a high of 21 against Montana State Billings. She has multiple rebounds in every game this year, going for at least five in 12 games with a high of 10 against Seattle Pacific which turned into a double-double with 14 points. McCarver has at least five assists in 12 games, reaching nine in a game twice. She also has 13 games with multiple steals, reaching a high of three on six different occasions.
Aragon is tied with McCarver for the team lead in points per game at 10.4. She also averages 7.0 rebounds, 35 blocks, 21 steals, 20 assists, 81 field goals and 32 free throws. Aragon is making almost 50 percent (49.4) from the field and leads the team in rebounds and blocks. She is tied for sixth in the GNAC in rebounds per game, fifth in field goal percentage, second in blocked shots per game (1.8), ninth in offensive rebounds per game (2.2), and sixth in defensive rebounds per game (4.8).
Aragon has scored at least 10 points in a game 12 times with a high of 17 occurring three times. She has at least five rebounds in 13 games, with a high of 17 against Saint Martin's. Three times this season Aragon posted a double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds against Chico State, 11 rebounds and 10 points against Northwest Nazarene and 17 points and 10 rebounds against Corban. She dished out multiple assists in five games, with a high of three against Northwest Nazarene. Aragon has multiple blocks in seven games, reaching five in a game four different times. She also has multiple steals in five games, with a high of four against Texas A&M-International.
McCarver, Aragon and the Wolves open the GNAC Championships this Wednesday at Saint Martin's in Lacey starting at 2:15 p.m.
