Alvarez's Strong Start Earns GNAC Pitcher Of The Week Accolade

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Another week and another quality start from Arturo Alvarez led to him being named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week on Monday.

Alvarez pitched seven strong innings to lead WOU to the extra inning 2-1 win over Saint Martin's. The right-hander allowed just one earned run while adding eight strikeouts. He limited the Saints to four hits and only issued one free pass. He improved to 7-0 on the season with a 2.83 ERA in 60.1 innings, posting
44 strikeouts on the year and holding opponents to a .217 batting average.
