PORTLAND, Ore. – It was another strong showing in the classroom for the 2021-22 Western Oregon University student-athletes with 23 being named to the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Faculty Athletic Representative Scholar-Athlete Awards, presented by Barnes and Noble College. Earning one of the top academic achievements around, student-athletes must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.85 or better. Of the 23 on the list for the Wolves, track and field/cross country led the way with 10. Women's soccer added four, followed by women's basketball, volleyball and softball all with three.

Seven student-athletes had a perfect 4.0 GPA in Josie Ackerman, Katie Chapman, Madison Hargett, Kaitlyn Kruse, Bella MacLellan, Emily Olson and Kate Ronning.

The list featured just two upperclassmen in juniors Jenna Efraimson and Hargett. There were seven sophomores in Emilia Carpenter, Carly Cox, Jenelle Hurley, Olson, Hannah Rispler, Natalie Willoughby and Taryn Wilson. The other 14 on the list were freshmen in Ackerman, Chapman, Madisyn Clark, Macy Clemens, Amity Deters, Erika Glenn, Kruse, Briana Kubli, Lindie Larson, MacLellan, Liz Parker, Ronning, McKenzie Westphal, and Caitlin Wheeler.
