LACEY, Washington --- The Western Oregon volleyball team fell to Colorado Christian 3-1 (25-23, 22-25, 25-18, 26-24) Saturday at Marcus Pavilion to wrap up play at the SMU Tournament.
The Wolves (4-4) evened up the match at 1-1 when they rallied from a 21-20 deficit to score five of the final six points of the set - getting kills from
Ella Nordquist,
Sarah Crowell and
Chloe Asciutto - to win 25-22.
After dropping the third set to the Cougars (5-4) 25-18, it appeared WOU may take the fourth game as it held a 22-16 advantage before a 7-1 run by CCU tied the match with Crowell ending the run with a kill for the Wolves to make it 24-23 and set point. However, three kills by the Cougars in a row gave them the set and the match.
Nordquist led WOU with 11 kills while
Madison Hornback added 10 kills and seven digs.
Sophia Casarez led the team with 31 assists while
Laney O'Neil had 17 and
Ally Henry had a team-best 11 digs.
