MONMOUTH, Ore. --- The Western Oregon women's basketball team took control of the game against Alaska Fairbanks in the second quarter and cruised from there for an 81-67 win Saturday afternoon at New PE Building.
The Wolves (8-9 overall, 2-7 GNAC) trailed the Nanooks (4-12, 1-8) 13-12 after the first quarter before an
Ally Harman 3-pointer to open the quarter for WOU gave it the lead and the Wolves never trailed the rest of the game.Â
The advantage grew to double figures after an
Amber Winkler 3-pointer at the 2:54 mark made it 33-22. WOU took a 42-29 lead at the half after outscoring UAF 30-16 in the quarter.
WOU would lead by as much as 19 points in the second half before cruising to the 14-point win.
Cali McClave paced the Wolves with 26 points to go along with five rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Princy Paaluhi-Caulk had 19 points and three assists while
Kiylynn Dawkins had 12 points.
WOU is back in action next Saturday at 2 p.m. at home against Saint Martin's.
