MONMOUTH --- The turnaround sophomore campaign by the Western Oregon men's soccer program continues to find magic as the Wolves got a
Marco Millan goal with 25 seconds left to beat Northwest Nazarene 1-0 Thursday afternoon at WOU Turf Field.
WOU (8-3-1 overall, 5-1-1 GNAC) with the win will sit in no worse than a tie for first place when Thursday ends as it's the second time this season the Wolves got a game-winner in the final two minutes to beat the Nighthawks (3-5-4, 1-2-3).
The contest was evenly played throughout as the Wolves and Nighthawks each took 12-or-more shots on goal - though WOU had 10 on target compared to six for NNU.
It appeared destined for a tie when in the final
Aidan Brouddus found space on the right side and took it near the end line. There he crossed it where Millan was there to put it away in the 90th minute to pick up the win.
Juan Suarez was clutch in goal for the Wolves, picking up six saves as he picked up his fourth clean sheet of the season.
WOU returns to action next Thursday as it travels to take on Western Washington.
