WOU women's soccer, Seattle Pacific draw 2-2 in Seattle

SEATTLE, Wash. — The 24th-ranked Western Oregon women's soccer team played to a 2-2 tie against first-place Seattle Pacific on Saturday afternoon at Interbay Stadium.

WOU (6-2-2 overall, 3-2-1) was the first to strike when Gabby Warta scored her first goal of the season, assisted by Emma Smith and Olivia Fothergill in the 50th minute. No less than a minute later, SPU (7-2-2, 4-0-2) found the back of the net, leveling the contest at 1-1.

In the 68th minute Warta struck again, beating her defender off the dribble to score her second goal. The Falcons managed to equalize once more, making it 2-2, with a goal in the 84th minute.

The Wolves and Falcons each had 10 shots, but WOU had six on target to SPU's five. WOU's Sophia Pierce logged three saves in the match.

The Wolves return to action Thursday to face off against Central Washington at WOU Soccer Field.
