MONMOUTH, Ore. --- The Western Oregon men's soccer team rallied from a tough first 16 minutes of the game where the Wolves were down 2-0 to come back and play Seattle Pacific to a 3-3 draw on a rainy Saturday at WOU Turf Field.
The Wolves (10-3-3 overall, 7-1-3 GNAC) stay in the hunt for the GNAC title, but will need some help and have Simon Fraser lose or tie two or three of its final games to have a chance.
After falling behind 2-0,
Jacob Garcia broke free and scored in the 21st minute to make it 2-1 - his fourth goal of the season. SPU (5-7-4, 3-4-3) scored again in the 43rd minute to make it 3-1 before Garcia again scored just before the end of the half on an assist from
Marco Millan to make it 3-2 at the break.
The score remained that way until it was Garcia this time setting up a goal - finding
Andres Labate for his fourth goal of the season in the 85th minute to tie the match.
Both teams had their chances with the Falcons outshooting WOU 15-13, though the Wolves had more on target (8-6).
WOU closes out its season next Saturday at Seattle Pacific.Â
