MONMOUTH, Ore. --- The Western Oregon women's basketball team beat Oregon Tech 68-65 at the NPE Building Saturday to move to 5-5 on the season.
In a game with eight lead changes, neither team managed to hold more than a six-point advantage through the first three quarters. With 50 seconds remaining in the final quarter, a cutting layup from Bella Pedrojetti widened the gap to nine points. The Owls (8-1) managed to knock down a pair of threes late in the game, but WOU's lead held.
The Wolves (5-5, 1-1) were led by Cali McClave, who scored 18 points to go along with seven rebounds, three assists and three steals. Pedrojetti had 17 points (3-for-6 on 3-pointers). Ana McClave grabbed a team-high 12 rebounds, alongside Kiylynn Dawkins, who had 10 points and 10 rebounds. Triniti Youngblood dished out a team-high five assists, while adding 11 points.
The Wolves play again 5 p.m. Monday as they host Linfield.
