MONMOUTH, Ore. --- The Western Oregon men's basketball team celebrated their four seniors
Yosani Clay,
Daisone Hughes,
John Morrill-Keeler and Cam Cranston - but the Wolves fell short on a last-second shot by Central Washington 75-73 Saturday at New PE Building.
WOU now is set to play in the GNAC Championships on Thursday in Bellingham, Washington, thought it's unsure against who until Northwest Nazarene's game Saturday night is completed at St. Martin's.
As for Saturday, the Wolves led for nearly 35 minutes of the game but trailed by a point with less than 30 seconds left before
Cameron Benzel scored in the paint on a pass from Morrill-Keeler with 13 seconds to make it 73-72 WOU.
However, CWU's Samaad Hector drained a 3-pointer with a second left to win it for the Wildcats.
Cranston led WOU with 14 points to go along with five rebounds.
Qiant Myers had a solid all-around game with 11 points, seven assists, five rebounds and two steals. No other player reached double figures for WOU.
