MONMOUTH, Ore. --- The Western Oregon volleyball team dropped its GNAC and home opener 3-0 (28-26, 25-22, 25-20) to Seattle Pacific on Thursday night at New PE Building.
WOU (6-3 overall, 0-1 GNAC) fought off four set points in the first game thanks to a pair of kills by
Bailee Hartsook and another by
Emily Olson - but the Falcons (7-2, 1-0) ripped off two straight points to win the first set 28-26. In the second game, WOU led 18-17 after an SPU attack error before the Falcons scored 8 of the next 12 points to take the set 25-22). Again the Wolves led let in the third set at 19-18 before Seattle Pacific scored seven of the next eight pois to come away with the win.
Hartsook led the Wolves with eight kills while
Chloe Asciutto added six.
Bella MacLellan and Asciutto had six blocks apiece while
Laney O'Neil had 14 assists and
Kealani Rosa added 12.
WOU returns to action 7 p.m. Saturday when it hosts MSU Billings.
