MONMOUTH --- The 13th-ranked Western Oregon women's soccer team had its undefeated streak to start the season stopped at five as the Wolves fell to Northwest Nazarene on Saturday at WOU Soccer Field.
It was a high-scoring first half as the Wolves (4-1-1 overall, 1-1 GNAC) scored the first two goals of the contest - one in the 20th minute by
Raeanne Jones assisted by
Lilly Nowatzke and
Jenna Efraimson and another in the 25th minute by
Chloe Smith (her team-best fifth of the season) assisted by Alyna Slater.
The Nighthawks (4-0-2, 2-0) answered quickly with a goal in the 26th minute and tied the game in the 41st minute. NNU took the lead in the second half with a goal in the 65th minute.
The Wolves return to action at home 3 p.m. Thursday against Simon Fraser.
