COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. --- Western Oregon's
Chloe Asciutto tied a GNAC record with nine aces in a four-set win over Bemidji State Friday morning before the Wolves fell in three to No. 10 Nebraska Kearney in the afternoon at the Mountain Lion Classic.
Asciutto's nine aces ties Brooke Foster of Northwest Nazarene (set Sept. 26, 2019) for the most in a four-set match in conference history, helping WOU (5-2) defeat BSU 25-12, 19-25, 25-17, 25-18.
Madison Hornback led the attack with 12 kills with Baille Hartsook and
Kilinoelehua Helm adding eight apiece.
Kealani Rosa had 21 asissts while
Laney O'Neil had 17 and
Sophie Matlock had a team-best 16 digs.
In the loss to Nebraska Kearney, Hornback led WOU with 11 kills while Helm and Hartsook each had six.Â
WOU closes out play at the Mountain Lion Classic 7 a.m. (PT) Saturday as it takes on Western Colorado.
