MONMOUTH, Ore. --- The Western Oregon women's soccer team picked up a point with a scoreless draw against Seattle Pacific on Saturday at WOU Turf Field.
For the Wolves (3-3-5 overall, 3-1-2 GNAC), the draw gives them 11 points in the standings - good for fourth place and just a point behind the Falcons (5-1-4, 3-0-3) for third, two points behind Simon Fraser and three behind first-place Western Washington.
As for Saturday's contest, it was a tale of two halves in terms of chances as SPU outshot the WOU 11-1 in the first half (including a four-shot barrage in the final minute where WOU keeper
Sophia Pierce made three saves and the other shot was blocked) before the Wolves outshot the Falcons 7-3 in the second half.
Overall, Pierce finished with six saves - all coming in the first half - as she picked up her second-straight shutout and fourth on the season.
WOU hits the road next week to take on Central Washington on Thursday and Saint Martin's on Saturday.
