Wolves post third shutout in a row with scoreless draw at CWU

ELLENSBURG, Wash. --- The Western Oregon women's soccer team posted its third shutout in a row and moved its unbeaten streak to four with a scoreless draw at Central Washington on Thursday at Tomlinson Stadium.

The three consecutive shutouts for the Wolves (3-3-6 overall, 3-1-3 GNAC) is the longest streak since 2018 and the six ties on the season ties a program record - which has been done twice before, last season and in 2013. On the season, the Wolves have posted five shutouts and have been shut out five times.

WOU had a myriad of opportunities Thursday night with 25 shots.- including 16 on goal with none getting by the CWU keeper. On the opposite side, WOU allowed just nine shots with only three on target (including allowing just two shots in the second half compared to taking 15).

Sophia Pierce picked up her fifth shutout of the season and collected three saves - two coming in the final 10 minutes.

Next up for WOU is a road contest at Saint Martin's on Saturday - a team it beat 1-0 earlier this season in Monmouth.
