Wolves blank SMU 3-0 for fourth-straight clean sheet

LACEY, Wash. --- The Western Oregon women's soccer team picked up its fourth-straight shutout in a 3-0 win over Saint Martin's on Saturday at Saints Field.

The Wolves' (4-3-6 overall, 4-1-3 GNAC) shutout streak is the longest for the team since 2013 as they haven't allowed a goal in 437 minutes, 33 seconds. WOU is also on a five-match unbeaten streak.

The Wolves got rolling in the 35th minute when Olivia Johnsrud connected on a give-and-go with Ally Beavers with Johnsrud putting the ball away to make it 1-0.

Just seven minutes later, Beavers took a pass from Alyna Slayter in front of the goal and shot it, but it was blocked. The ball came right back to Beavers who shot it toward the goal where Emma Smith was there to tap it in to make it 2-0 - giving Beavers her second assist in the game.

Freshman Kameron Wimsatt made the final 3-0 converting a penalty kick in the 66th minute.

WOU outshot the Saints (1-10-2, 1-5-2) 15-7 overall and 6-3 on shots on goal. WOU keepers Sophia Pierce (one save) and Bella Lopez (two saves) combined for the shutout.

The Wolves hit the road next week again at Seattle Pacific on Thursday and Montana State Billings on Saturday.
