MONMOUTH, Ore. --- The 15th-ranked Western Oregon men's soccer team scored three goals in the first 30 minutes and cruised to a 4-1 win over Saint Martin's 4-1 on a rainy Thursday afternoon at WOU Turf Field.
The Wolves (11-2-1 overall, 7-1 GNAC) picked up a goal just 1:44 into the game when
Diego Andrade crossed a ball to
Yahir Ocampo Navarro who scored his team-best seventh goal of the season to go up early on the Saints (0-14, 0-8).
Alexis Luna scored the next two goals for the Wolves in the 26th and 30th minutes to increase the lead to 3-0. WOU led 3-1 before
Alejandro Valdes-Dordea scored on an assist from
Donovan Hesselmeyer with seven seconds left in the match to make the final 4-1.
WOU outshot the Saints 11-0 in the first half and 15-6 overall in the match. WOU keeper
Andre Schlaefli finished with two saves.
The Wolves hit the road Saturday to take on Simon Fraser.
