MONMOUTH, Ore. --- The Western Oregon women's soccer team's seven-match unbeaten streak and six-match shutout streak came to an end 2-0 against first-place Western Washington on a rainy Thursday at the WOU Turf Field.
The Wolves (4-4-8 overall, 4-2-5 GNAC) saw their shout streak end at 618 minutes, 49 seconds when the Vikings (10-2-4, 9-0-2) scored in the 12th minute to take a 1-0 lead. WWU added another goal in the 32nd minute and held on from there.
WOU was outshot 10-4 in the contest, including 7-1 on shots on goal as Wolves keeper
Sophia Pierce finished with five saves.
WOU hosts another key matchup 10 a.m. Saturday against fellow top-four GNAC team Simon Fraser.
