A LOOK INTO THIS WEEKEND
- The Wolves take part in the Mt. McKinley Bank North Star Invitational this weekend with fellow GNAC school Alaska along with Western Colorado and Corban.
- The Wolves open against Corban on Friday - traveling to a school that is 1,666 miles away "as a crow flies" to play a school that is approximately 14 miles away.
- WOU has won six straight against Corban, last losing Dec. 15, 2006 in Salem.
- Corban, an NAIA school, defeated Simpson 77-68 to open the season before falling to Arizona Christian 87-72.
- This will be the first meeting for Western Oregon against Western Colorado. The Mountaineers may be 0-2, but the losses are to No. 2 Texas Woman's (71-52) and to Angelo State (57-54). WCU went 7-20 last season.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Wolves opened the season with an 81-77 victory Sunday against Multnomah, WOU's third straight season-opening win. The Wolves are now 23-25 in season openers.
- Bella Pedrojetti exploded for 34 points in the opener - the most points in a game by a Wolves players since Leada Berkey scored a school-record 45 points against Central Washington on Feb. 21, 2008.
- Edmonds-transfer Natalie Brown had an impressive WOU debut, scoring 18 points while grabbing 17 rebounds - tied for the most rebounds by a WOU player since Heather Laats grabbed 18 rebounds on Jan. 26, 2002 against Northwest Nazarene.
