MONMOUTH, Ore. --- The Western Oregon men's basketball team held a lead in the final two minutes, but came up just short against No. 18 Saint Martin's 79-74 Saturday at New PE Building.
The Wolves (3-12 overall, 0-5 GNAC) led 45-38 at halftime thanks to shooting 51 percent from the field. In the second half, the Saints (16-2, 5-0) and Wolves battled it out, with the lead changing hands 11 times. An
O'shen Cazimero layup with 1 minute and 52 seconds to go put the Wolves up 74-73, but SMU answered back with a basket on its next possession to take the lead for good.
The Wolves shot a season-high 46.2 percent from 3-point range, going 12-for-26.
Jason Gallant had a team-best 22 points and five assists,Â
Jahville Collins finished with 20 points while Cazimero added 11 points and four steals.
Brady Grier had a WOU-high 11 rebounds to go along with four assists.
