MONMOUTH, Ore. --- The Western Oregon volleyball team fell to No. 19 Western Washington 3-0 (27-25, 25-20, 25-21) on Thursday night at the Wolves Athletic Center.

The first game was a back-and-forth affair with the Wolves (1-11, 0-3) fighting off back-to-back set points before a Samantha Darby ace gave WOU game point at 25-24. However, the Vikings (10-1, 4-0) rattled off the next three points to take the game.

Maela Honma paced WOU with 14 kills to go along with a team-best eight digs. Chloe Asciutto finished with eight kills, three blocks assists and six digs.Darby finished with a team-high 19 assists to go along wit ha pair of aces and six digs.

The Wolves return to action Saturday against Simon Fraser.
